About The Position

TMMG is seeking an experienced Senior Primavera P6 Scheduler to provide remote project controls and scheduling support for the Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC) Program. This position plays a critical role in planning, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting ship construction activities from engineering release through vessel delivery. The successful candidate will develop and maintain integrated construction schedules that encompass engineering, procurement, manufacturing, module construction, assembly, outfitting, testing, trials, and delivery activities. The scheduler will work directly with program managers, engineering teams, production supervisors, waterfront operations, supply chain personnel, and subcontractors to ensure schedule integrity and support successful program execution. This role requires a strong understanding of shipbuilding processes and the ability to translate complex production activities into actionable schedule information that supports decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Background check, US Citizenship, and a drug screening are requirements of this position.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent shipbuilding, industrial construction, manufacturing, or project controls experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • Minimum 5 years of Primavera P6 scheduling experience.
  • Minimum 2 years supporting shipbuilding, ship repair, naval vessel construction, heavy manufacturing, industrial construction, or defense programs.
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated schedules exceeding 5,000 activities.
  • Experience supporting multiple stakeholders in a complex production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
  • Advanced Primavera P6 proficiency.

  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret large volumes of schedule data, engineering documentation, production reports, and project control metrics requiring sustained visual concentration and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to shipyard facilities, customer locations, program reviews, or planning meetings as required, including walking through manufacturing and ship construction environments, climbing stairs, and accessing vessels under construction.
  • Ability to maintain a dedicated remote workspace with reliable high-speed internet connectivity capable of supporting Primavera P6, Microsoft Office applications, virtual collaboration platforms, and secure access to customer and company systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed Primavera P6 Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) supporting all phases of MMSC vessel construction.
  • Establish and maintain schedule logic relationships between engineering, procurement, manufacturing, production, testing, and delivery activities.
  • Create schedule baselines and support baseline change management processes.
  • Ensure schedule structure aligns with program work breakdown structures (WBS), control accounts, and major program milestones.
  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules where required.
  • Support schedule development and execution for Engineering Activities (Design development, Drawing release planning, Design change incorporation, Technical review cycles, Material specification releases).
  • Support schedule development and execution for Supply Chain Activities (Long-lead material procurement, Vendor manufacturing schedules, Equipment deliveries, Material availability tracking, Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) integration).
  • Support schedule development and execution for Production Activities (Panel line fabrication, Unit construction, Grand block assembly, Hull erection, Machinery installation, Pipe installation, HVAC installation, Electrical cableway installation, Outfit completion).
  • Support schedule development and execution for Testing and Activation Activities (System completion tracking, Mechanical completion milestones, Light-off planning, Combat systems integration, Dock trials, Builder's trials, Acceptance trials, Delivery preparation).
  • Conduct weekly schedule updates using information received from production, engineering, supply chain, and program management teams.
  • Analyze schedule progress against approved baselines.
  • Identify schedule variances and develop corrective action recommendations.
  • Monitor critical path and near-critical path activities.
  • Evaluate schedule float consumption trends.
  • Forecast milestone completion dates.
  • Develop what-if analyses and schedule recovery scenarios.
  • Actively manage and communicate schedule drivers, including critical path activities, near-critical path activities, schedule constraints, resource conflicts, production bottlenecks, material shortages, engineering release delays, and testing and commissioning impacts.
  • Provide management with actionable recommendations to mitigate schedule risks before they impact vessel delivery.
  • Prepare and present weekly program schedule reports, executive-level schedule dashboards, milestone status reports, variance analysis reports, recovery schedules, schedule risk assessments, six-week production look-ahead schedules, and ninety-day integrated planning schedules.
  • Participate in weekly production meetings, program management reviews, engineering coordination meetings, integrated product team meetings, schedule risk reviews, and customer status reviews as required.
  • Identify schedule risks early and communicate impacts to leadership.
  • Support development of mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Evaluate impacts of engineering changes, late material deliveries, production disruptions, workforce shortages, and testing delays.
  • Assist leadership in determining the most effective path to maintain contractual milestones.

  • Assist in development of performance metrics and schedule health indicators.
  • Perform schedule quality checks and compliance reviews.
