This job contributes to Starbucks success by being responsible for conducting advanced pricing research and analysis to support Starbucks pricing strategies across products and channels. This role evaluates internal pricing models and external market dynamics, including competitor pricing, seasonal trends, and customers’ willingness to pay to recommend pricing actions that optimize revenue and profitability.

Requirements

  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Strong knowledge of pricing methodologies, market research techniques, and competitive analysis.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable pricing recommendations.
  • Experience with pricing databases and KPI development for tracking pricing effectiveness.
  • Collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (Finance, Marketing, Product).
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking to identify trends and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in pricing analysis, financial modeling, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced pricing research and analysis to evaluate internal pricing models and external market dynamics, including competitor pricing, seasonal trends, and customer behavior.
  • Develop and maintain pricing databases and dashboards, ensuring accurate tracking of historical and current pricing data for Starbucks products and competitors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Marketing, Product) to provide pricing recommendations that align with business objectives and market positioning.
  • Monitor and report on pricing performance, identifying trends and opportunities for optimization across product lines and channels.
  • Lead projects or initiatives within the pricing function, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.
  • For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
