We are seeking a Senior Presales Systems Engineer to support our Federal Civilian Agency customers. This customer-facing role is ideal for a technical leader who enjoys partnering with customers to solve complex networking challenges and delivering innovative solutions that align with mission objectives. As a trusted technical advisor, you will work closely with Account Managers throughout the sales cycle—from discovery and solution design to technical presentations, Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and successful deal closure. You'll leverage your expertise in enterprise networking to design scalable architectures and demonstrate the business value of HPE Networking solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8+ years of networking experience in a pre-sales, post-sales, consulting, or systems engineering role.
  • Significant experience in pre-sales systems engineering, solution consulting, or other customer-facing technical roles supporting enterprise networking environments.
  • Deep expertise in campus and branch networking, including: Routing & Switching Wired and Wireless Networking WAN Technologies Network Security Network Access Control (NAC) Cloud-managed networking platforms
  • Experience with Aruba CX, Juniper Junos, and Juniper Mist is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of APIs and network automation is preferred.
  • Experience with SRX firewalls or technologies such as DMVPN, ADVPN, or GroupVPN is highly desirable.
  • Experience with network access security platforms, including Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE, or similar solutions.
  • Solid understanding of data center and WAN networking technologies, with hands-on experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills with the ability to engage audiences ranging from technical engineers to executive leadership.
  • Ability to translate complex technical solutions into measurable business and mission value.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States to support customer engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary pre-sales technical advisor for assigned Federal Civilian Agency accounts.
  • Partner with Account Managers to identify, qualify, and advance sales opportunities.
  • Lead customer discovery sessions and translate business and technical requirements into scalable solution architectures and technology roadmaps.
  • Design and present enterprise networking solutions across campus, branch, WAN, wireless, security, network access control (NAC), automation, and cloud-managed environments.
  • Develop and deliver technical proposals, presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
  • Position HPE Networking solutions against competitive offerings by articulating technical differentiation and business value.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, services, and channel partners to deliver successful customer outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer engineers, architects, IT leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Stay current on networking technologies, market trends, and competitive solutions.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites, internal meetings, and strategic events across the United States.
