About The Position

Pathways for Change, Children’s Counseling Center is seeking an experienced, highly capable Practice Administrator who brings a demonstrated level of excellence to behavioral health billing and practice operations. This is not an entry-level billing position. We are looking for someone whose experience has prepared them to walk into a busy behavioral health practice, understand the revenue cycle, identify problems, and know what needs to happen next. We want someone who owns the outcome and asks critical questions to ensure resolution and prevent future issues. This position requires someone who is proactive, accountable, extremely organized, persistent, and exceptionally detail-oriented.

  • Demonstrated excellence in behavioral health billing and practice operations.
  • Experience in understanding the revenue cycle.
  • Ability to identify problems and determine next steps.
  • Experience with aging claims.
  • Experience following through on claim denials.
  • Experience reconciling insurance payments.
  • Experience handling difficult accounts requiring persistence.
  • Expertise in behavioral health insurance billing.
  • Expertise in full revenue-cycle management.
  • Expertise in claims submission and follow-up.
  • Expertise in denials, rejections, and appeals.
  • Expertise in aging accounts receivable.
  • Expertise in insurance payment reconciliation.
  • Expertise in credentialing and payer enrollment.
  • Expertise in eligibility and benefit verification.
  • Expertise in identifying billing discrepancies and revenue leakage.
  • Expertise in patient balances and collection follow-up.
  • Familiarity with EHR and clearinghouse workflows.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, organized billing records.
  • Comfortable interacting with clients.
  • Comfortable interacting with staff.

  • Ability to own the outcome.
  • Significant hands-on experience in healthcare billing, preferably behavioral health.
  • Understanding that excellent revenue-cycle management requires more than submitting claims; it requires investigation, follow-through, communication, accuracy, and persistence.
  • Comfortable tackling complicated problems.
  • Willingness to handle difficult phone calls.
  • Ability to complete tasks without constant reminders.

Responsibilities
