Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 5 years of experience with designing mechanical parts and assemblies using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • 3 years of experience analyzing the design of mechanical systems using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools including Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • 2 years of experience analyzing production inspection data for mechanical and electrical components using statistical tools, Minitab and Excel.
  • 2 years of experience transitioning power electronic device designs to production at high volumes.
  • 2 years of experience working with manufacturing vendors to produce built-to-print mechanical components from concept through high volume production.
  • 2 years of experience performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using established methodologies to identify the cause of failure in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • 2 years of experience performing Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize mechanical assemblies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own inverter mechanical parts from concept through production including part design and release.
  • Develop manufacturing processes including running DOEs and executing process validation.
  • Design and execute physical tests in a lab environment, including designing fixtures / test equipment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute test campaigns for design verification of inverter sub-components and the inverter system.
  • Optimize costs from design to manufacturing and create robust designs for automotive applications.
  • Own mechanical parts for inverters, driving optimization for durability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Domestic and International Travel Required up to 20%.
