About The Position

FIREFLY is seeking a full-time Senior Positive Behaviour Interventionist (SPBI). In this role, you will provide evidence-based behavioural intervention services while also supporting the growth, consistency, and development of Positive Behaviour Interventionists (PBIs) across the FIREFLY region. As an SPBI, you will be a key member of the team. You will maintain a clinical caseload while also providing mentorship, guidance, and support to PBIs. This role works under the clinical direction of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA), Psychologist, or Psychological Associate, and supports the delivery of evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services. This position is a mentor and resource role, not a supervisory role. The SPBI provides support with non-client specific questions, onboarding, skill development, training, and practice consistency, as delegated by the RBA and Clinical Manager. This position may be based in any of our FIREFLY locations, with travel required throughout the FIREFLY service region, including rural and urban settings.

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Autism and Behavioural Science, Psychology, Social Work, Child and Youth Work, Developmental Services, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working with children and youth with developmental needs and/or ASD.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis service delivery or a related role.
Demonstrated experience implementing behaviour analytic strategies and behavioural intervention programs.
Experience providing services across home, school, and community settings.
Strong knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis principles, behaviour analytic strategies, and child development.
Understanding of CPBAO guidelines, scope of practice, and role limitations.
Demonstrated mentorship, coaching, and informal leadership abilities.
Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize workload.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Ability to problem-solve, exercise sound professional judgment, and seek guidance when needed.
Knowledge of community resources and ability to collaborate with community partners.
Flexibility and ability to work across multiple service environments.
Reliable documentation practices, including timely and accurate data collection and reporting.
Commitment to family-centred, culturally responsive service delivery.
Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screen
Valid Ontario Driver's Licence
Ability to travel within the FIREFLY service region, including rural and urban settings.
Ability to manage workload effectively with strong prioritization and follow-up

Responsibilities

Maintain a clinical caseload and deliver evidence-based behavioural interventions in accordance with Behaviour Plans.
Work directly with Autistic children and youth, children and youth with other developmental profiles or complex needs, and their families across home, school, and community settings.
Provide family-centred services and supports, including parent coaching, as appropriate.
Support services that align with applicable Behaviour Analyst Certification Board and College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario standards and requirements.
Complete accurate and timely documentation and contribute to data collection for service delivery and funder accountability.
Act as a primary resource for PBIs regarding non-client specific questions and day-to-day processes.
Provide formal and informal mentorship, coaching, and skills practice based on identified learning needs.
Support onboarding and orientation of new PBIs, including systems, documentation, and ABA-specific practices.
Lead or support group training, skill development sessions, and knowledge-sharing opportunities across the ABA team.
Support consistency in practices, documentation, and workflows across the FIREFLY region.
Participate in service planning, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
