The Senior Plumbing Designer will lead Revit production, drafting coordination, and construction documents for plumbing and fire protection systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects in sectors such as healthcare, science & technology, K-12, higher education, and commercial buildings. The position is based in a hybrid work environment, blending in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.

Requirements

Minimum of 10+ years of plumbing/fire protection design experience
Proficient in Bluebeam Revu, Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office
Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines
Excellent work ethic and attitude
Good communication and time management skills
Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work
Must have working knowledge of the ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, and NEC

Nice To Haves

LEED certification/experience is a plus
CPD is preferred
Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred
Preference for knowledge of the IBC, IMC, IECC, and IPC requirements

Responsibilities

Lead Revit production and preparation of plumbing and fire protection construction documents for multiple projects.
Produce complex floor plans, riser diagrams, schedules, details, and equipment layouts for new and renovation projects.
Work independently with minimal oversight and serve as a technical resource for junior staff.
Review drawings and models prepared by junior staff for accuracy, completeness, and company standards.
Coordinate Revit models with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
Discuss design during architect/client design review meetings and coordinate design development.
Lead clash detection and resolution coordination issues during design development.
Manage drawing deliverables, deadlines, and production priorities for assigned projects.
Prepare design calculations and selection of equipment for building plumbing systems.
Write and edit plumbing and fire protection specifications, engineering reports, and other technical design documentation.
Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards and apply requirements to project designs.
Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, punch walks, field revisions, and as-built updates.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal standards, training, and quality control procedures.
Support proposals, bid site visits, and business development efforts as needed.
