Senior PLM Coordinator

IREN•San Francisco, CA
•$225,000 - $285,000•Hybrid

About The Position

The Senior PLM Coordinator establishes and maintains the part and Bill of Materials (BOM) structures that define IREN's AI infrastructure hardware, from New Product Introduction (NPI) through End of Life (EOL). This senior individual contributor works in IREN's PLM system to create Part Master/Item Master data and BOM structures for large-scale AI compute clusters according to predefined methods and specifications. The role owns the integrity of purchased parts, systems, racks, service parts, and related structures throughout the product and data-center lifecycle, maintaining accurate data as Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and Product Change Notifications (PCNs) alter product definitions. The coordinator partners with Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, and third-party OEM, ODM, and supplier partners to structure product data that supports sourcing, build, deployment, and service at scale. Responsibilities span part and BOM creation, change management, supplier notices, lifecycle and revision control, data-quality audits, service BOMs, and guidance for PLM users. The position reports to the Senior Manager, PLM. It is hybrid in San Francisco, with remote work initially possible where IREN has not yet established a local office, transitioning to hybrid on-site work once the office is established. The role requires reliable commuting to the assigned office on scheduled in-office days and minimal to no travel other than periodic group meetings. Pre-employment screening, including background checks and substance testing, may be required under company policies. The expected base salary is USD $225,000–$285,000 per year. The total compensation package may include annual performance incentives and equity. Relocation or a living-out allowance/per diem may be available depending on the successful candidate's circumstances. IREN describes its operations as powered by 100% renewable energy and emphasizes responsible and sustainable practices and positive community impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in product lifecycle management, engineering data management, or configuration management for complex electromechanical hardware.
  • Experience creating and maintaining part records and multi-level BOM structures in a PLM system according to established methods and specifications.
  • Understanding of EBOM, MBOM, and service BOM structures, including FRU and CRU definitions and structures, item and revision control, effectivity, and where-used relationships.
  • Hands-on experience processing ECOs, ECNs, and PCNs, including redlining BOMs, assessing impact, and updating affected parts and structures through release.
  • Working expertise establishing and maintaining Part Master/Item Master data, including part definitions and specifications, manufacturer and supplier part numbers, compliance attributes such as RoHS, REACH, and export classification, units of measure, and lifecycle status.
  • Experience with data-center hardware such as GPU and CPU servers, networking, optics, power, and liquid cooling, including working with OEM, ODM, and supplier partners to obtain and structure part data.
  • Advanced Excel or equivalent data-tool skills for bulk data loads, BOM comparisons, and data validation.
  • Strong hands-on problem-solving, data-analysis, and communication skills, with the ability to operate autonomously across Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, and third-party partners.
  • Ability to reliably commute to the assigned office location on scheduled in-office days under the hybrid work arrangement.
  • Pre-employment screening, including a background check and substance testing, may be required according to company policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Build part records and multi-level BOMs according to IREN's predefined part-numbering, classification, attribute, and structure specifications.
  • Translate the needs of Sourcing, Operations, Engineering, and other teams into BOM structures supporting sourcing, building, deployment, and service of IREN hardware.
  • Partner with Engineering and third-party OEM, ODM, and supplier partners during NPI to gather, validate, and load part and BOM data before sourcing and build.
  • Execute ECO and ECN activity in the PLM system, redlining BOMs, updating affected parts and where-used structures, and driving changes through review and release.
  • Monitor and process supplier PCNs and end-of-life notices, assess their impact on parts and BOMs, and coordinate alternates and dispositions with Sourcing and Engineering.
  • Meet SLAs for part and BOM requests and accommodate critical ECO, ECN, and PCN timeframes to keep sourcing, build, and deployment schedules on track.
  • Manage part and structure lifecycle states from introduction through sustaining and EOL, ensuring effectivity and revision control reflect configurations deployed across IREN's data centers.
  • Establish and maintain service BOMs and FRU/CRU structures that support field service and data-center operations.
  • Validate data quality through regular audits of part attributes, BOM accuracy, and PLM-to-ERP alignment, and resolve discrepancies at the source.
