Senior Platform Software Engineer

Oracle•Nashville, TN

About The Position

The Senior Platform Software Engineer owns moderately complex components within platform services or SDKs and leads team-level improvements to integration frameworks and developer tooling. The role combines platform software development with operational ownership of OCI File Storage Services across pre-production and production environments. It includes developing and evolving multi-tenant platform components, debugging distributed services, improving resilience and capacity, and protecting downstream consumers through compatibility-safe fixes and upgrade paths. The engineer performs routine service operations, monitors service availability, reliability, performance, and capacity, and participates in customer-impacting incidents. The role also contributes to deployments, operational readiness reviews, incident and problem management, capacity planning, automation, observability, and customer experience improvements. Software development work spans design, implementation, testing, optimization, API lifecycle and interoperability, architecture alignment, secure coding, and ongoing system maintenance. The position requires independent planning and execution, cross-team collaboration, customer-focused issue resolution, and continuous learning and improvement. The posting lists a U.S. hiring range of $92,500 to $209,500 per year and notes that the role may be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package, with some benefits subject to eligibility.
