Senior Platform Software Engineer

Oracle•United States,
•$92,500 - $209,500

About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Cloud Hardware Support organization is building modern software systems to help data center operations scale as infrastructure grows. The Senior Software Development Engineer will design, build, and operate cloud-native services supporting the full lifecycle of data center hardware operations, including repair workflows, inventory processes, analytics, and operational management. The systems aim to help technicians and managers work efficiently, reduce operational friction, improve visibility, and make repair operations more measurable and predictable. The role focuses on reliable distributed systems and turning complex operational workflows into simple, scalable software experiences. The engineer will contribute independently to major features, collaborate across engineering and operations, and improve the quality, reliability, and maintainability of team-owned systems. Oracle’s IC3 leveling guidance describes senior engineers as operating independently, building major features, improving team practices, and driving design, operational readiness, and risk mitigation for their features and subsystems. The CHS roadmap includes a task-centric repair operator platform, repair analytics, guided workflows, modernized standard operating procedures, inventory and spare-parts signals, and tooling that reduces manual decisions. The Single Pane of Glass vision calls for a unified, mobile-first platform consolidating task execution, inventory management, guided procedures, automation, and analytics for data center technicians and managers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate cloud-native services supporting OCI data center hardware operations, repair workflows, inventory processes, analytics, and operational management.
  • Build scalable backend services, APIs, workflows, and data integrations connecting operational systems into unified experiences for technicians, managers, and support teams.
  • Transform complex operational processes into guided, task-centric workflows with clear states, automated handoffs, validation steps, and measurable outcomes.
  • Contribute to systems that improve task prioritization, work assignment, technician productivity, inventory visibility, part readiness, and operational decision-making.
  • Implement reliable integrations with ticketing, inventory, knowledge management, telemetry, and reporting systems while ensuring correctness, resiliency, and security.
