ResMed is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help design, build, and operate our cloud-native compute platform on AWS and Kubernetes. This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong architectural thinking and a passion for developer experience. You will work closely with engineering, architecture, and security teams to deliver platform capabilities that enable secure, reliable, and scalable software delivery. The ideal candidate has extensive experience operating Kubernetes platforms in production, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and can provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Deep expertise with AWS cloud and managing kubernetes clusters in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitOps, Argo CD, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CDK, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking, including VPCs, CNI, service mesh, ingress, Envoy Gateway, Gateway API, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Experience with Karpenter, autoscaling, capacity management, and cost optimization.
  • Strong production experience with observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and operational excellence.
  • Experience designing and operating multi-tenant platforms including managing secrets, configuration, and platform security controls.

  • Experience in healthcare, medical device, financial services, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience applying AI to software engineering, platform operations, and developer productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Own the security, scalability, resiliency, and evolution of the platform by driving strategic initiatives, platform roadmaps, and migration efforts that improve developer experience, operational excellence, and platform adoption.
  • Design, build, and operate platform capabilities that enable secure, reliable, and scalable application delivery across a multi-tenant Kubernetes environment.
  • Lead troubleshooting, incident response, capacity planning, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain a highly available production platform.
  • Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to engineers across the organization.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and automation to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
