About The Position

This position is responsible for the design, development, and support of applications in available hybrid cloud environments. The role involves implementing stable, cloud-native applications and automating DevOps processes for provisioning, deployment, and monitoring activities in PaaS/IaaS environments. This specific role will serve as the senior technical authority for the Microsoft 365 platform, responsible for architecture, engineering, security, governance, automation, and strategic direction. The position designs and oversees scalable, secure, and supportable solutions, provides expert leadership for platform modernization and adoption, and serves as the highest level of technical escalation. The role ensures the Microsoft 365 environment is aligned with business objectives and can be effectively operated and supported by internal teams and managed service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ Years software development in web, web service, API architectures, and cloud
  • Microsoft 365 engineering experience, including enterprise-scale environments supporting 5,000+ users, and a proven track record leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives such as tenant-to-tenant migrations, hybrid-to-cloud transformations, and large-scale platform modernization
  • Experience defining architecture standards, governance, roadmaps, tenant configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience designing and implementing security controls, compliance solutions, automation, integrations, monitoring, and operational reporting.
  • Experience owning platform operations, service standards, vendor oversight, and serving as an escalation point for complex technology platform issues.
  • Experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Powershell or other automation environments and scripting technologies.
  • Experience with IaC frameworks such as Terraform, AWS Cloudformation, or AWS CDK, and/or Bicep.
  • Experience moving workloads from on premise to IaaS (Openstack, AWS, Rackspace, Azure, Druva etc.)
  • Experience with network technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tool
  • Technologist with people skills - Team leader capable of mentoring and culture building
  • Ability to problem solver with proven track record of refactoring legacy monoliths to cloud native
  • Business minded SE leader with track record of delivering business value through technology.
  • Partners with product managers to translate business needs into technical roadmaps
  • Expert developer with passion for creating high-volume, low-latency, and cloud-native 12-factor applications in AWS/Azure
  • Knowledge Containerization such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the technical aspects of: Application protocols, such as HTTP(S), SMTP, SSL, and DNS
  • Common applications of cryptography, such as X.509 PKI, PGP, etc.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
