About The Position

Our client, a premier manufacturing organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage plant accounting activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strict compliance with GAAP. This role collaborates closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to support a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strictly within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Strong background in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and U.S. GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, GL reconciliations, and accruals.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, valuation, and production variances.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and production performance insights.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
• Support external audits and tax filings (including Property/Sales/Use tax).
• Maintain fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital project tracking.
• Partner with plant management to drive financial process efficiencies and support ERP system enhancements.
