About The Position

Accredo Specialty Pharmacy, a division of Evernorth Health Services, is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician, Inventory to join their team at the Tempe, AZ Fulfillment Center. This role is crucial for overseeing inventory management, including new drug entry, maintaining locators, managing short-dated and damaged medications, coordinating shipping, and responding to recalls. The Senior Pharmacy Technician will also serve as a resource for the team, assist the supervisor in ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and contribute to training and development of technician staff. The position emphasizes leading by example, promoting a positive work environment, and ensuring efficient and accurate inventory operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Arizona State License and National Certification PTCB.
  • 2 + year of Pharmaceutical Inventory Management experience, required.
  • Experience working in a Specialty Fulfillment Pharmacy setting, required.
  • Basic math skills and general PC knowledge including Microsoft Office, Internet, and email required.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Ability to learn internal systems, processes and programs as needed.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high stress situations.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate distribution of workload and workflow for assigned area, including shifting resources and backfilling as needed.
  • Accurately and responsibly operate production equipment, including changing labels, cleaning printers, monitoring production equipment, and restocking materials.
  • Ensure appropriate teams are informed of equipment malfunctions.
  • Monitor outbound docks and coordinate daily shipping needs.
  • Serve as the first line resource for questions/issues for team members.
  • Promote a positive work environment for the team that supports high employee morale and job satisfaction.
  • Identify and document issues impacting performance and productivity of team members and provide input regarding solutions.
  • Assist Supervisor in ensuring established policies and standard operating procedures are followed and that individual and team goals for productivity and quality are met/exceeded.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of policies and procedures for technicians, including specific training materials and ensuring these documents are current and accurate.
  • Assist in training and validating technician staff regarding procedures, providing one-on-one and group training as needed.
  • Provide tips on how to get the job done more efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure that all team members are cross-trained to cover production functions.
  • Manage Inventory: Enter new drugs into Safire, keep locator up to date, manage short dates, damaged medication, get approvals, damage out, manage layout of inventory, move as needed, back stock organization, bin tags, back stock tags, barcodes, manage palletized drug (FIFO, rotation, ensure receiving team also aware of expiration dates when palletizing or putting out forward stock).
  • Manage Recalls: Respond to emails, quarantine physically and systemically.
  • Manage Replacements: Receive what is sent by manufacturer.
  • Lead Responsibilities: Manage workflow, prioritize individual work, highly self-manageable, respond to emails, problem solve.
