Requirements

  • You're a natural coach - you have a gift for asking the questions that reframe, unstick, and mobilize
  • You're energized by hard problems and bring the kind of thinking that makes a meaningful difference in finding a way forward
  • You have meaningful experience working closely with people and teams - this could come from coaching, organizational development, psychology, a people-facing role in science or tech, or something else entirely that's given you genuine depth in understanding how people and organizations work.
  • You're organized, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail or quality
  • You communicate with care and precision - tactful when it matters, direct when it counts
  • You're curious about drug development and want to understand our science and teams deeply enough to be a true strategic partner

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years for those earlier in their People Partner journey, and 8-10+ years for those who've been doing this for a while and are ready to bring that depth to a senior version of this role
  • an undergraduate degree in biology is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Building meaningful relationships with the teams you support, sought out as a trusted thought partner and coach on everything from team engagement and development to performance and role progression
  • Coaching and consulting with managers and AbCellerites to unlock potential, accelerate growth, and help people do the best work of their careers - whether that means thinking through a big opportunity, navigating a tricky situation, or being a sounding board
  • Partnering closely with the teams you support to understand what's really working and what isn't, surfacing root causes not just symptoms, and co-developing thoughtful, evidence-based solutions
  • Coaching managers through performance conversations, compensation decisions, and the day-to-day judgment calls that come with leading people well
  • Supporting and delivering company-wide initiatives like Perks & Pay reviews, learning journals, engagement surveys, and guideline/policy rollouts - bringing rigour and creativity to how they land
  • Playing an active role in recruiting for your teams, bringing your deep knowledge of the people and work to help identify, attract, and assess candidates who will thrive at AbCellera
  • Keeping our people data accurate and up to date in Bamboo - processing changes to roles, teams, and reporting structures, and ensuring the right information is always reflected across AbCellera
  • Bringing the voice of your teams back to P&C: sharing patterns, observations, and honest feedback so we can continuously improve how we show up, communicate, and support AbCellerites
