About The Position

LI.FI is seeking a Senior People Operations Specialist to join their People & Operations team. This role is for a hands-on generalist who thrives in ambiguity, builds from first principles, and thinks AI-first when solving operational challenges. The position involves owning a wide range of people operations topics and supporting a globally distributed, remote-first team. The role is located remotely within the EMEA region.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations or HR in a tech company (SaaS, fintech, or similar)
  • Proven experience in a scale-up or startup environment — you know what it means to build processes, not just run them
  • Strong understanding of European employment complexity: multi-country workforces, EOR models, and contractor management
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fully remote, async-first team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a sharp sense for numbers
  • Strong sense of ownership: you spot a problem, you solve it, you document it
  • Comfortable using AI tools to draft, research, and build — and excited to keep pushing that further

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience on larger organizations (~1k+ employees) is a plus
  • Exposure to payroll processes or payroll provider management is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own core HR operations across the full employee lifecycle
  • Support managers and employees on performance management and employee relations
  • Work with EOR providers and contractors across multiple jurisdictions, navigating the complexity of a multi-country European workforce
  • Collaborate with Finance on contractor and payroll-related processes, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
  • Design and document scalable HR workflows, replacing manual processes with structured, AI-assisted solutions
  • Build and maintain people ops tooling and automations, including integrations with HiBob, Notion, Slack, and other internal systems
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve operational efficiency — and then actually build them

Benefits

  • Annual company offsites
  • 30 days of PTO
  • Flexible remote days
  • Flexible working hours
  • Equity participation from day 1
  • Entitlement to work computer (choice of equipment)
  • An annual 1,000€ personal development budget once you have worked 6+ months (pro-rated the first year)
  • A one-time 1,000€ remote budget to use on coworking, office setup, etc.
