About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to support and enhance payroll operations across a multi-entity, national organization. This role combines hands-on payroll processing with team support and continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring payroll is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time, while partnering with cross-functional teams to support employee lifecycle changes and reporting requirements.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll, including experience in a lead or senior capacity.
PCP certification required.
Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Workday, or similar.
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, look-ups).
Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

CPM certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and technical support to the payroll team.
Support accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple entities.
Review and validate bi-weekly payroll.
Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation across provinces.
Act as an escalation point for complex payroll inquiries.
Partner with HR, Finance, and operational leaders.
Ensure employee changes (hires, terminations, compensation updates) are accurately reflected.
Support audits and maintain accurate payroll documentation.
Assist with T4 and RL1 reporting and reconciliations.
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
Support onboarding and training of new payroll team members.
