About The Position

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join their team. This role requires strong skills in financial analysis and systems, with a particular emphasis on HCM PeopleSoft/ERP Systems. The Senior Data Analyst will be instrumental in supporting enterprise systems optimization and business intelligence initiatives, focusing on PeopleSoft HCM integrations, HR, and salary data analytics. The position involves identifying and rectifying inefficiencies within business processes through data analytics and business acumen, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions. The role also includes supporting day-to-day financial operations related to PeopleSoft HCM processes, training team members and external users, and managing project documentation and business requirements gathering. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment, effectively handling multiple simultaneous projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with a major in a business subject (e.g. accounting, finance, and economics) or information systems/technology and at least three years of related work experience.
  • A graduate in business or public administration may be substituted for the bachelors degree requirement and only one year of the related experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge and minimum of 3 years work experience with HCM (Commitment Accounting) is required.
  • Must have at least three years professional experience thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment where s/he is actively engaged in multiple and simultaneous projects.
  • Solid experience with project documentation, gathering business requirements, and data analysis is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft FSCM (General Ledger) would be a plus.
  • Project management certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting, audits, and year end close processing, system implementations/optimizations, Training experience is preferred.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert/module delegate for PeopleSoft HCM Commitment Accounting, including system upgrades or implementation of new features/modules.
  • Process day-to-day operations related to regular payroll distribution processes in PeopleSoft HCM, including the journal generation of weekly, biweekly, and monthly payrolls.
  • Responsible for various reconciliations, including the validation of data integrity between subsystems.
  • PeopleSoft functional issue resolution, including management of payroll interfaces, data integration, data extracts/reporting requests, and developing payroll analyses for management.
  • Lead functional development/testing of system processes or implementation of new business processes related to PeopleSoft HCM Commitment Accounting.
  • Develop and present recommendations for business solutions through research and analysis of data and business process, and implement when appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation for Data Management Financials operations as well as training documents.
  • Project management in regards to process documentation and improvements, developing work plans and providing status updates to management.
  • Train users on different PeopleSoft HCM payroll distribution processes and reports internally within Finance and externally to Departments.
  • Perform ongoing or ad-hoc reporting and analytical projects, including monthly payroll reconciliations, TIAA reconciliations and reclasses, payroll analysis pre-confirmation, and Salary Transfer reconciliations.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and takes full ownership of projects.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives.
  • Provide coverage for team members during vacancies.
  • Performs other tasks as required.
