About The Position

The Senior Product Manager for Canada Payments will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Citi's payment offerings in the Canadian market. This position is responsible for the strategic development, management, and commercialization of innovative payment solutions, aligning with global product strategies and local market needs. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the Canadian payment ecosystem, a strong understanding of emerging payment trends, and a proven track record in product lifecycle management within a dynamic financial services environment. This role demands a proactive, client-centric leader who can translate market opportunities into tangible product features and drive adoption.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience within financial services, with a significant focus on payments.
  • Proven expertise in a broad range of payment products (e.g. Merchant Acquiring, Commercial Cards, ACSS, Wires, Instant Payments, Cross-Border Payments).
  • Ability to define clear product vision and strategy, translating complex market dynamics into actionable product roadmaps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences (clients, senior management, technical teams).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and drive consensus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product strategy for multiple Canada Payments products, aligning with global priorities and local market dynamics and Payments Modernization initiatives.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation and requirements gathering to launch, commercialization, and ongoing performance management.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and client segmentation to identify opportunities for new products or enhancements to existing solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in client-facing interactions, understanding their evolving needs, pain points, and contributing to strategic dialogue on payment solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Technology, Operations, Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure product features are developed, implemented, and delivered in line with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Ensure all payment products comply with Canadian payment regulations (e.g., Payments Canada rules, FINTRAC) and internal Citi policies. Actively monitor regulatory changes and adapt product strategies accordingly.
  • Develop compelling value propositions, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans in close coordination with Sales teams to drive revenue growth and market adoption of Canada Payment products.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, revenue drivers, and client satisfaction, taking corrective actions as needed to achieve financial and strategic goals.
  • Drive innovation within the Canadian payment space, exploring new technologies (e.g., Open Banking, AI-driven payments) and strategic partnerships to enhance Citi's offering.
