About The Position

Cornerstone Bible Church is seeking a Senior Pastor who deeply loves Jesus, walks closely with Him, and faithfully leads others toward Him. The ideal candidate will be a shepherd-teacher with proven Christlike character, able to teach, and who will know and love the people of Cornerstone. The congregation desires a pastor who will preach God's Word with clarity, conviction, and grace, transforming hearts and forming disciples. This role requires a leader with humility, prayer, integrity, and genuine dependence on Christ, who will also extend their ministry beyond Sunday mornings by knowing people, walking alongside them, strengthening families, and helping believers discover and use their gifts. The pastor will also provide leadership, mentorship, and development to the staff, partnering in the administrative work of leading a healthy ministry. The church aims to cultivate healthy disciples, encourage biblical community, and foster growth. Character is valued over credentials, with a desire for a humble, teachable, wise, trustworthy, courageous, and gracious leader. The pastor should align with the church's commitment to expository preaching, Statement of Faith, elder-led model, and have a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and reaching the next generation.

Requirements

• Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent advanced degree required.
• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in any field of study required.
• A minimum of 10 to 15 years of active ministry experience is highly desired.
• A baseline requirement of preaching at least 30+ times per year.
• Demonstrated prior experience leading, mentoring, and managing a staff and/or large teams of volunteers is required.
• Exceptional capability in verse-by-verse, expository preaching of God's Word.
• Ability to lead, develop, and partner with a collaborative staff of 15 and operate under an elder-led plurality model.
• Strong capacity to provide personal, empathetic, and wise biblical counseling and spiritual care.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain robust discipleship pathways.
• Strategic capacity to lead the church through upcoming Phase II facility expansions.
• Uncompromising commitment to personal holiness, matching the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
• Alignment with Cornerstone's Statement of Faith.
• High standards of personal wisdom and shepherding discretion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary teacher of the church, responsible for the regular preparation and delivery of biblically sound sermons.
• Maintain Cornerstone’s foundational commitment to verse-by-verse, expository preaching of God's Word.
• Preach 40 to 45 times per year and collaborate with the preaching team.
• Stand firmly on the authority and inerrancy of Scripture, addressing biblical truths with grace, boldness, and humility.
• Provide personal, empathetic shepherding, crisis visitation, and biblical counseling for families and individuals.
• Model a deep shepherding heart by walking with families through trials, hospital stays, surgeries, and grief.
• Oversee, manage, and shepherd a collaborative team of 15 staff members.
• Actively mentor and develop direct staff reports, specifically guiding the newly forming Director of Adult Discipleship role.
• Equip and train staff to handle daily shepherding confrontations, operational friction, and staff conflicts.
• Serve as the liaison between the staff and the Elder Board.
• Submit to and partner with a unanimous plurality of elders.
• Partner with the elders in guarding the theological DNA of the church and act in unity on elder-led shepherding decisions.
• Partner with the elders to shepherd and fundraise for Phase II facility expansions.
• Guide the church's discipleship programs, small groups, college ministries, and youth groups into a unified discipleship track.
• Champion Cornerstone’s missions DNA, fostering active local outreach and community service.
