About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Overhead Electrical Transmission Engineer to join our Electric Transmission Team in a remote capacity in or around Denver, CO, or Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will lead the planning and design of critical transmission infrastructure projects that power communities and industries. You will help advance grid modernization efforts, support the integration of renewable energy resources, and deliver resilient solutions that enhance reliability while helping shape the future of energy transmission.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices across various areas
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for electric transmission infrastructure, including overhead lines, underground transmission, and grid-hardening upgrades
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues in various areas of electric transmission engineering
• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions that enhance grid resiliency and energy efficiency
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies
