About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Overhead Transmission Engineer for its Electric Transmission Team in Duluth, Georgia, or in a remote capacity. The position applies engineering expertise to overhead transmission projects, develops engineering solutions, and provides guidance to junior team members. The role is fully remote capable, though occasional on-site responsibilities may be required for employees located near a CHA office.

The engineer works on complex electric overhead transmission projects, including rebuilding existing transmission lines, designing new greenfield transmission lines, and supporting utility project scoping. The role coordinates project phases with other engineering disciplines and project management staff, monitors progress and performance, and delivers work within budget and schedule constraints.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience.
• Previous transmission engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software such as Revit, MicroStation, and PLS-CADD, as well as Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with clients regularly.

Responsibilities

• Use advanced engineering judgment and analysis to develop complex designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for electric overhead transmission projects.
• Support projects involving rebuilding existing overhead transmission lines, designing new greenfield transmission lines, and utility project scoping.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed project phases with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
• Monitor project progress and performance to support efficient production and minimize issues.
• Complete projects within budget and schedule constraints.
• Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff working on overhead transmission and power delivery projects.
