We are looking for a Senior Outsource Supervisor, Environments to help craft a new, unannounced game for Blizzard. As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality outsourced environment art by guiding external partners and collaborating with internal art and production teams. You are comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, navigating fluid deadlines and changing priorities with purpose. This role offers a flexible hybrid work week, with a mix of remote and on-site days. While hybrid is the standard arrangement, you're also welcome to work on-site full-time if you prefer. Our primary studio location is in Irvine, CA

Requirements

  • 8+ years in game development with experience in environment art for shipped titles.
  • Proven experience managing or supporting outsourcing pipelines and external partners.
  • Deep knowledge of AAA production pipelines, tools, and game engines.
  • Strong foundation in environment art fundamentals (lighting, color, composition, materials).
  • Experience creating a range of assets including hard-surface, foliage, and organic work.
  • Proficiency in PBR workflows and production-ready asset development.
  • Experience collaborating with Art, Design, and Production teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to manage large-scale asset delivery across multiple workflows and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with production tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ShotGrid, Airtable).
  • Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback to internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and navigate ambiguity.
  • Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong accountability.
  • A passion for developing artists and elevating team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Define outsourcing strategies, including vendor selection criteria and engagement models.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality environment art aligned with the game’s artistic vision.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback across the production lifecycle from concept through final implementation.
  • Maintain quality standards, best practices, and visual consistency across all environment art deliverables.
  • Review, implement, and refine incoming and outgoing work to support efficient outsourcing workflows.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies across external pipelines and drive resolution with stakeholders.
  • Lead collaboration between internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
  • Mentor and guide artists, contributing to the growth of team capability and production practices.
  • Drive improvements to pipelines, tools, and processes to support scalable art production.
  • Communicate status, priorities, and risks clearly to leadership and cross-disciplinary partners.
