About The Position

We are hiring High Speed Transceiver Application Engineer to join our team in San Jose. You will work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment focused on validating high-speed modules such as 400G, 800G, and 1.6T. The role involves electrical validation, automation development, interoperability testing, and system-level debug. You will collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust performance across a variety of operating conditions. Requirements

  • Master’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed transceivers such as QSFP-DD, OSFP, AEC, and related lab instruments (e.g., oscilloscope, BERT and VNA)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams
  • Passion for high-speed signaling, system-level validation, and continuous learning
  • Solid understanding of SerDes architecture, signal integrity, and high-speed link behavior
  • Familiarity with DSP architecture and ability to write bring-up and tuning code

Responsibilities

  • Characterization of TIA/EML/SiPho optical components. For example, TIA gain and bandwidth, ac response characterization; bias current and thermal settings tuning for lasers and modulators optimization.
  • Validate stress receiver sensitivity test for module performance against OMA-min requirements and ensure compliance with link budget allocations for 400G/800G/1.6T optical links.
  • Build automation scripts for test execution, data collection, and analysis using Python or other programming languages
  • Conduct environmental and reliability stress testing, including thermal cycling, voltage margining, and soak tests
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and drive resolution in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Support optical module bring-up, firmware validation, and vendor qualification
  • Contribute to DSP bring-up and tuning, including writing low-level code for signal processing and link optimization
