About The Position

The Senior Operator Readiness Advisor manages desk-specific training programs from onboarding through desk certification. The role works closely with trainees, subject matter experts (SMEs), and Operations leaders to develop and facilitate training, monitor operator progress, identify readiness gaps, and improve learning experiences that prepare operators for real-world operating conditions.

During the first year, the advisor is expected to help operators progress from onboarding to desk qualification, reduce readiness gaps and trainee ramp-up time, and build trusted relationships across Operations, SMEs, and trainees.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in reliability coordination, generation and interchange, balancing and dispatch, or related control room operations.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Familiarity with NERC, FERC, or similar compliance frameworks.

Nice To Haves

• NERC Reliability Coordinator Certification.
• Training, coaching, or Learning & Development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead desk-specific onboarding, on-the-job training (OJT), and qualification programs.
• Develop and facilitate cohort-based training and readiness activities.
• Track trainee progress and address learning gaps.
• Partner with Operations leadership and SMEs to improve training effectiveness.
• Incorporate operational lessons learned into continuous learning content and simulations.
