About The Position

TD Securities provides capital market products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients globally. With teams in Toronto, New York, London, Singapore, and other key markets, TD is committed to delivering world-class execution and client service. The Fixed Income Operations team supports the end-to-end trade lifecycle for TD Securities' trading and investment activities. As TD builds a new Whole Loan business, this team will play a critical role in ensuring seamless execution, risk mitigation, and superior client service. The Senior TDS Ops Analyst Will actively support daily operations of the Whole Loan business. Responsibilities include trade capture, processing and reconciliation with emphasis on monthly remittance reconciliation, cash settlement and other loan lifecycle events. The role requires collaboration with the VP and front office teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain trade accuracy and integrity. The Operations Analyst/Specialist II TDS coordinates and executes projects primarily focused on the continuous improvement of Operations and/or the attainment of organizational objectives. The Operations Analyst/Specialist II TDS assists Operations management in identifying opportunities for process improvements, analyzes options (including software, workflow changes, training needs, and procedure modification), and presents recommendations and implements change.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in fixed income operations or middle office roles.
  • Strong Whole Loan product knowledge with expertise in remittance processing and loan lifecycle events.
  • Solid understanding of trade capture, allocation, confirmation, and settlement processes.
  • Experience resolving breaks, fails, and reconciliation issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and operational systems (Broadridge Impact, SITUS, SBO).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required, relevant certifications a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree, or specialized training / equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Successful project management skills and ability to work independently
  • Proven ability to relate technical solutions to operational issues
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent in operating computer applications with specific focus on data retrieval and research including CMOD
  • Solid understanding of data analysis techniques and methodology
  • Proficient in Monarch, Access and Excel, proven knowledge of PowerPoint and Word

Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee processes for remittance reconciliation and processing, cash management and loan lifecycle events.
  • Ensure accurate and timely trade capture, allocations, and confirmations.
  • Monitor and resolve trade discrepancies, breaks, and settlement fails.
  • Settlement of hedges including MBS TBAs, US Treasuries and other fixed income instruments.
  • Manage treasury funding needs to ensure proper cash and liquidity.
  • Liaise with front office, sales, technology, and external counterparties to address and resolve issues.
  • Support new business initiatives and the implementation of system enhancements.
  • Maintain strong operational controls and documentation.
  • Identify and escalate potential risk events promptly.
  • Provide input into workflow enhancements and automation initiatives.
  • Support the development of procedures and best practices for the Whole Loan middle office function.
  • Performs more complex operational analysis within the Loss Analytics department
  • Works independently and works with the Management team in making decisions on policy and procedure changes
  • Develops recommendation and coordinates the implementation of new procedures
  • Disseminates analyzed findings and makes recommendations to Management pertaining to system configurations and/or process changes
  • Manages through to completion on assigned projects including identifying project requirements, gathering information, developing an approach, executing the project and ensuring communication occurs across functional areas
  • Projects could involve standardization, conversion, productivity, service quality or other strategic issues or documentation related to these areas
  • Leads capacity analysis for Fraud software to determine appropriate staffing levels
  • Collects and analyzes pertinent information and data pertaining to fraud committed against TD Bank
  • Conducts detailed statistical analysis involving fraud loss and check card data and correlate to Fraud Management applications/processes to determine department effectiveness
  • Completes ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from Management including data collection
  • Considered a subject matter expert for Operations processes and acts as a resource for resolving technical or operational issues
  • Conducts capacity analysis for Fraud software to determine appropriate staffing levels
  • Identifies opportunities and presents solutions for process improvements, including streamlining functions, resolving processing problems and improving service quality
  • Develops solutions in conjunction with work teams and management and then coordinates implementation
