About The Position

Responsible for numerical control (NC) programming for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), including associated work instructions, shop-floor support, and troubleshooting. The role works with individual and multidisciplinary teams of design, manufacturing, and quality personnel in production areas to determine manufacturing design practices, process plans, equipment setup and tooling requirements, programming needs, and schedule commitments. The programmer incorporates software and programming strategies for advanced manufacturing and inspection techniques. Product definition may be provided in paper or electronic formats, so 3-D CAD is required. The role uses paper and electronic formats to generate information for NC machining program generation, post-processing, and shop-floor download; provides software quality assurance support, including user testing of new and existing software systems; and supports the transition from drawing-centric to model-centric manufacturing.
