About The Position

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Senior Network Operations Engineer Diagnosing and solving difficult content delivery and networking challenges; Working on deployment, configuration, operationalization, and maintenance of Akamai networks and products; Identifying and implementing process improvements along with an excellent troubleshooting mindset to resolve complex technical issues; Escalating internally and externally to resolve mapping issues, monitor quality of Akamai mapping network; Developing alerts and dashboards that enable monitoring of network/mapping issues; Collaborating on traffic optimization and network design; Providing technical and product support for customer issues and handling the SME role during internal technical incidents; Developing and maintaining tools, documentation, and procedures to support the operation of a large scale network infrastructure. Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Telecommunication Networks, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Telecommunication Networks, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Two (2) years of experience with GSM/CDMA/LTE network operations and maintenance
Two (2) years of experience with transmission systems including STM 1-4, CPAN, UHF, and MW
Two (2) years of experience with network troubleshooting and fault analysis
Two (2) years of experience with routing, signaling, and data communications protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP
Two (2) years of experience with monitoring network traffic and capacity management
Two (2) years of experience preparing and updating technical documentation for compliance
