About The Position

Journeyman NetOps Engineer Responsibilities include: Providing day to day operational routing and switching support with hands on experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, RIP, etc.) Troubleshoot routing protocols and end-to-end network performance from the Local Area Network (LAN) through a Wide Area Network (WAN), to a Campus Area Network (CAN). Willingness to cross train and support multiple technologies in an operational environment including SATCOM, Voice, VDI/Virtualization. Support the system adherence to industry standards, DOD standards, DOD policies, DOD instructions, DOD directives, cybersecurity policies, and best commercial practices. Utilize ticketing systems for detailed documentation of outages and network change activities. Provide technical problem resolution for a wide range of network infrastructure problems or anomalies. This position requires flexibility to support 24x7 Network Operations including 12 hour shifts as required.

Requirements

  • Hands on experience with Cisco Routers and Switches
  • Hands on experience with routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, RIP, etc.)
  • Current DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ce, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.)
  • CCNA
  • HS Diploma and 5+ years of experience
  • Secret Clearance

  • Cross train and support multiple technologies in an operational environment including SATCOM, Voice, VDI/Virtualization.
