About The Position

CACI’s Enterprise IT (EIT) Sector is thrilled to announce an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team in support of an innovative Air Force Modernization program. This role requires someone to work onsite at DC or Maryland or Northern VA or High Point, NC and involves 50% travel. As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, contributing to the modernization of unclassified and classified base area networks. Your expertise will drive site surveys, design, and installation activities across wired, wireless, broadband, and ISP/OSP solutions.

Requirements

  • Must currently hold U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and 7+ years of related work experience.
  • High School diploma or associate degree with 10+ years performing as a Manager in DoD supporting large, complex networks.
  • Direct experience managing Air Force Base Area Networks.
  • DoD 8140 IAT II Baseline Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-SEC); CCNP or CCDP or equivalent.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing telecommunications and/or data center projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the creation of robust network architectures, topology diagrams, and data flow artifacts for wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions, focusing on ensuring high availability and peak performance.
  • Lead site surveys and work closely with the Engineering team to design state-of-the-art network architectures.
  • Design, implement, and document secure network architectures in compliance with DAF and DoD RMF standards, working with STIG checklists, port/protocol/service documentation, and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Support the deployment of advanced network management tools (SNMP, SYSLOG, orchestration) and coordinate with local Communication Squadrons.
  • Perform, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues, providing expert Tier 3 support to Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams.
  • Ensure all installations meet industry safety standards and operational cleanliness, restoring sites to original or better condition.
