About The Position

Reporting directly to the IT Director, the Senior Network Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, enhancing, coordinating, securing, and supporting the organization's enterprise network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer performs network, connectivity, security, wireless, telecommunications, remote access, and operational administration duties, and works with other areas of IS to support systems, applications, and interfaces that rely on secure and highly available network services.

Requirements

• Five to ten years of related experience supporting enterprise network, connectivity, security, telecommunications, or infrastructure operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the organization
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in standard office technology and systems, as applicable to the role
• Ability to support and maintain secure, highly available, and scalable network infrastructure in a regulated enterprise environment
• Ability to prioritize incidents, outages, operational support tasks, and project-based work in a dynamic environment
• Ability to research, evaluate, recommend, implement, and support infrastructure and security related technologies
• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, risk mitigation, vulnerability remediation, and enterprise security best practices
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation including network diagrams, operational procedures, inventories, and change management records
• Ability to participate in incident response, outage restoration, escalation support, root cause analysis, and on-call support activities
• Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, high availability, and redundancy concepts supporting enterprise operations

• Ability to support compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements within a financial institution environment

• Firewall, routing, switching, and network security technologies; designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining enterprise network environments
• Cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, network defense technologies, detection methods, and prevention controls
• Scripting, automation, and configuration management using PowerShell, Python, APIs, and administrative tooling
• Copper, fiber, and wireless networking technologies
• TCP/IP; ports, sockets, routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, and enterprise network segmentation

• Dynamic routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP

• Identity, authentication, and directory integration concepts; management, security, and policy-based access controls
• Cloud and hosted service connectivity concepts including secure integrations, SSO awareness, hybrid network design, and cloud infrastructure connectivity
• Network services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, and related infrastructure dependencies
• Command-line administration of enterprise network devices and security platforms
• Strong troubleshooting skills across LAN, WAN, wireless, internet, VPN, and remote access environments including latency, roaming, authentication, and connectivity related issues
• Incident response, outage restoration, escalation support, root cause analysis, and on-call support activities related to network and security infrastructure
• Limited familiarity with general server virtualization, and storage environments; basic support awareness of infrastructure dependencies and interrelated systems
• Network documentation, change management, compliance support, disaster recovery considerations, audit remediation, vulnerability management, cybersecurity initiatives, and risk mitigation efforts related to network infrastructure

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• Preferred certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications related to enterprise networking, cybersecurity, wireless, or infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, SD-WAN, and remote access infrastructure across branch and data center environments.
• Configure and support routing, switching, dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLAN segmentation, redundancy, failover, and high availability technologies.
• Support Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), network access control technologies, IPsec VPN connectivity, and secure remote workforce access solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance, latency, connectivity, wireless, authentication, and infrastructure-related issues across enterprise environments.
• Participate in incident response, outage restoration, root cause analysis, vulnerability remediation, audit support, and cybersecurity initiatives related to network infrastructure.
• Maintain technical documentation including network diagrams, standards, operational procedures, inventories, and change management records.
