About the position
As the Senior Network Engineer at Sana Biotechnology, you will be responsible for leading the planning, design, implementation, documentation, and support of network infrastructure, data center equipment, and system monitoring. Your role will involve owning and maintaining network infrastructure at all sites, proposing and implementing network improvements, troubleshooting network technologies, and developing network policies and procedures. We are seeking a technical expert with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in network technologies, as well as the ability to stay up-to-date with relevant trends and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement network equipment in a multisite on-premise and multi-cloud environment
- Own and maintain network infrastructure at all sites
- Propose, schedule, and implement network improvements, patches/upgrades, and repairs
- Troubleshoot network technologies and monitor network health
- Document infrastructure configuration information and ensure it is current
- Develop and maintain network policies, procedures, standards, and specifications
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in delivering network technologies
- Knowledge of high-availability design, disaster recovery, and switching
- Fundamental routing knowledge including BGP and OSPF
- Experience with power & cooling strategies in data centers
- Networking with cloud infrastructure services such as AWS or Azure
- Expertise in designing and integrating wireless, wired, and data center technologies
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Exemplify teamwork and serve as a role model
- Effective and professional communication, both orally and in writing, translating technical language to non-technical customers
- Some travel required
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for in-person work
- Base pay range expected to be between $160,000 and $190,000/year

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or technical discipline or equivalent
- 8+ years of in-depth knowledge, hands-on experience, and IT industry best practices delivering network technologies switches, routers, firewalls, and WAPs
- Knowledge of high-availability design, disaster recovery, core, distribution, and access switching
- Fundamental routing knowledge including BGP and OSPF
- Experience with power & cooling strategies based on knowledge of power consumption, redundancy, management, space allocation, & cooling technologies
- Experience networking with cloud infrastructure services such as AWS or Azure
- Expertise in greenfield deployments designing, delivering and integrating wireless, wired and data center technologies
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Exemplifies teamwork and serves as a role model
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both orally and in writing, while also articulating and translating technical language to non-technical customers
- Some travel will be required
- Working safely in person on a predictable and regular basis is an essential job function for this position, and the Company requires that all individuals working in-person be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
