About The Position

The Sr. .NET Lead Developer will lead the delivery and maintenance of mission-critical applications and services supporting City Government initiatives. The role focuses on .NET and Microsoft technologies and involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance applications. The lead will guide the development team and help advance software initiatives. Experience implementing, customizing, and supporting government SaaS applications such as Accela and OpenGov is preferred.

The position includes leading application design and development, maintaining code quality, mentoring junior developers, collaborating with stakeholders on requirements, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing performance, developing third-party integrations, and improving development processes and standards. The role calls for deep experience across .NET and Microsoft development technologies, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and business intelligence reporting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• Eight years of recent experience with the Microsoft .NET/Azure development stack.
• Seven years of application development experience.
• Two years of application development lead experience.
• Experience implementing, customizing, and integrating SaaS applications.
• Technical skills in C#, .NET, VB.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, Blazor, and database transactional and decision-support languages.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with microservices architecture.
• Deep experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SSMS, SSAS, SSIS, and Reporting Services.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of popular SDLC models, processes, deliverables, and applications.
• Understanding of common object-oriented software design patterns.
• Experience with business intelligence reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Experience with Microsoft development platforms and tools such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience implementing, customizing, and supporting government SaaS applications such as Accela and OpenGov.
• Local government experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of robust, scalable, and maintainable .NET applications.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code; conduct code reviews; and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand and refine requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to the development team and ensure best practices are followed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and bugs in a timely manner.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems and APIs.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies and continuously improve development processes and standards.
• Deliver and maintain mission-critical applications and services supporting City Government initiatives.
