The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department develops guidance-section electronics architectures for development programs and supports subsystem analysis, integration and testing, program leadership, and GPS/IMU activities. The department partners with Electrical Engineering teams that provide detailed designs for electrical products. The Navigation/IMU Engineer will work with experienced Navigation/IMU engineers to select IMUs and integrate them into navigation subsystems. The role requires understanding IMU fundamentals, testing methods, and performance data analysis, along with basic knowledge of serial interfaces and hardware integration and test. The engineer will work independently to set up tests that verify IMU performance and analyze the results. Assignments may span multiple programs and include broad independent work within a program Integrated Product Team (IPT). The primary work environment is an office, with possible laboratory or field work. Some travel, including foreign travel, may be required. The role involves collaboration on multidisciplinary teams, independent work with little supervision, and regular communication of status, issues, progress, and accomplishments to leadership and customers. RTX also expects employees to serve as both mentors and mentees.
