Navigation /IMU Engineer II (On-Site)

RTX•Tucson, AZ
•$68,900 - $131,100•Onsite

About The Position

The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department develops guidance-section electronics architectures, supports subsystem analyses, integration and test, provides program leadership, and supports GPS/IMU activities. The Navigation/IMU Engineer works with experienced Navigation/IMU engineers to select IMUs and integrate them into navigation subsystems. The role requires understanding IMU fundamentals, testing and performance analysis, serial interfaces, hardware integration and test, and how IMUs fit into guidance and navigation systems. The engineer should be able to independently set up tests to verify IMU performance and analyze the results. Assignments may support multiple programs and include IMU selection and testing, performance analysis, supplier interface, developing and documenting requirements and test plans, peer design reviews, presentations, and root-cause failure investigations. The role works within a program Integrated Product Team and multidisciplinary environment, with broad assignments performed independently and limited supervision. The engineer communicates progress, issues, and accomplishments to leadership and customers, develops professional networks, and participates in RTX’s mentoring culture. Some assignments may require travel, including foreign travel. The work is primarily office-based and may also involve labs or field work. This is an onsite role in Tucson, Arizona. An active and transferable U.S. government security clearance is required before starting, and the candidate must be able to obtain an interim clearance before the start date. U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
