The Senior Estimating Manager is responsible for completing estimate take-off of electrical drawings while ensuring they follow local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as compliance with contract documents of new and/or existing project(s). This role involves performing complete estimates on large to complex projects, supervising and coordinating the estimating team, and performing or approving calculations and electrical design for design-build projects. The position also requires reading and interpreting contract documents, identifying cost-effective means to perform work, preparing and submitting RFIs, and setting up breakdown charts and schedules. Additionally, the Senior Estimating Manager will be involved in preparing the scope of work, evaluating material quotations, requesting and evaluating subcontractor quotations, participating in final negotiations, and business development. The role includes attending job turnover meetings, developing sub-job breakdowns, performing construction estimates, handling change orders, and preparing requests for clarification. This position directly supervises Estimator Level I, II, and III, and periodically assists the project manager with end-of-month job surveys. The Senior Estimating Manager will also assist in developing new estimating procedures and achieving department sales and gross margin objectives, as well as acquiring additional training to improve communication and leadership skills.
