About The Position

Mining Americas, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Engineer to join the team at our Copperstone underground gold mine in Arizona. This position provides advanced engineering and technical support to underground operations and plays a key role in mine planning, design, scheduling, production optimization, and continuous improvement. The Senior Mine Engineer will work closely with Operations, Geology, Survey, Safety, Maintenance, and other technical disciplines to translate mine plans into practical operating objectives and help address both day-to-day and longer-term operational challenges. The position will also serve as a technical resource and mentor to less-experienced engineering personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5–8+ years of underground mining experience with demonstrated progression in mine engineering responsibilities
  • Experience developing short-, medium-, and long-range underground mine plans
  • Experience with underground mine design, development planning, production sequencing, and infrastructure planning
  • Strong knowledge of Deswick, Surface Open Pit-Minesite, and Leap Frog
  • Working knowledge of underground mining methods, drill and blast practices, ventilation systems, ground control principles, and mine services
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license meeting insurance standards

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or progress toward licensure is preferred
  • Underground precious-metals and narrow-vein mining experience
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical services teams
  • Experience supporting operational excellence or continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short- and medium-range mine plans, production schedules, forecasts, and development plans
  • Support long-range and life-of-mine planning
  • Prepare underground mine designs, including development layouts, production areas, access, infrastructure, and sequencing
  • Provide engineering support for drill and blast design, ventilation, ground control, mine services, and underground infrastructure
  • Work with Geology and Operations to optimize ore recovery and minimize dilution and ore loss
  • Monitor production performance against plans and schedules and recommend corrective actions when needed
  • Analyze production, equipment, engineering, and cost data to identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, and efficiency
  • Assist with budgeting, production forecasting, capital planning, and cost-control activities
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Mine Engineers and other less-experienced technical personnel
  • Ensure engineering work complies with MSHA requirements, applicable federal and Arizona requirements, company policies, and engineering standards
