About The Position

Mining Americas Inc. is seeking a Mine Engineer – Junior to Intermediate Level to provide technical engineering support to mine operations. This is an excellent opportunity for either a recent Mining Engineering graduate looking to begin their career or an engineer with several years of experience ready to take on greater technical responsibility. The Mine Engineer will work closely with Safety, Operations, Geology, Survey, Processing, Maintenance, and other technical personnel to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of mining and engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and operational teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is expected
  • Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with applicable MSHA and site requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Previous mining experience, internship, or co-op experience is preferred but not required (for Junior Level)
  • 2–5 years of progressively responsible mining engineering experience (for Intermediate Level)
  • Experience in mine planning, production engineering, design, scheduling, or related technical functions preferred (for Intermediate Level)
  • Experience with mine planning, CAD, scheduling, or related engineering software is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with short- and medium-term mine planning, scheduling, design, and production forecasting
  • Prepare mine designs, layouts, maps, drawings, and other technical documentation
  • Monitor production performance and assist with reporting, reconciliation, and variance analysis
  • Provide engineering support related to mining sequences, equipment utilization, haulage, development, and operational requirements
  • Perform engineering calculations and assist with drill and blast planning, as applicable
  • Coordinate with Geology and Survey personnel to maintain accurate mine plans and current technical information
  • Conduct field inspections to verify mine conditions, production progress, and compliance with established plans
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, efficiency, recovery, and cost performance
  • Support technical studies, special projects, budgeting, forecasting, and operational evaluations
