About The Position

The Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 platform. This role provides technical leadership across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), Defender, Intune, Purview and related security and compliance services and settings. The engineer acts as a subject matter expert, mentors’ junior engineers, and partners with infrastructure teams to ensure a stable, secure, and scalable M365 environment. This is an IN-OFFICE position, Located in Lake Mary, FL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer field
  • 10+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 / Office 365 in an enterprise environment
  • Deep expertise in: Exchange Online (including hybrid deployments)
  • Deep expertise in: SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Defender and Teams
  • Deep expertise in: Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, MFA
  • Strong PowerShell automation experience
  • Solid understanding of identity, authentication, and access management
  • Experience with M365 security and compliance tooling
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in enterprise IT, regulated, or security‑focused environments
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS‑102, SC‑300, SC‑400, AZ‑104)
  • Experience with Intune / Endpoint Manager
  • Experience with Defender for Office 365
  • Experience with Hybrid identity (AD Connect / Cloud Sync)
  • Experience in large‑scale tenant consolidation or mergers
  • Familiarity with ITIL, change management, or enterprise governance models

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft 365 tenant architecture aligned with business and security requirements
  • Optimize tenant configuration for performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Evaluate new Microsoft 365 features and roadmap items; provide recommendations and adoption strategies
  • Manage mail flow, hybrid configurations, retention, eDiscovery, and troubleshooting in Exchange Online
  • Manage site architecture, permissions, storage management, and governance in SharePoint Online & OneDrive
  • Manage Microsoft Teams Channels, policies, voice integration, and lifecycle management
  • Manage identity governance and life cycle, conditional access, MFA, and SSO integrations in Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Manage Intune: Enroll, provision (e.g., with Windows Autopilot), and manage endpoints (Windows, iOS, Android, macOS)
  • Collaborate with teams to implement secure devices and app strategies for Modern Workplace
  • Deploy, update, and manage applications across devices using Intune
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, sensitivity labels, eDiscovery)
  • Enforce Zero Trust principles and conditional access policies
  • Partner with security teams to support audits, investigations, and incident response
  • Define and maintain governance standards, naming conventions, and lifecycle policies
  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, and scripting best practices
  • Create monitoring, alerting, and health‑check processes for O365 services
  • Troubleshoot complex, tenant‑wide issues and engage Microsoft support when required
  • Serve as senior technical escalation point for O365 issues
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and documentation
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams
  • Support change management, user adoption, and enterprise IT initiatives
  • Work on projects as necessary
  • Alternating on call / off call schedule with other Administrator
