About The Position

The PLH Senior Medical Lead position is responsible for being a clinical leader in the organization in terms of clinical mentorship, capacity to train new providers, and being the champion for PLH policy and procedures. A person in this position would exemplify a commitment to the PLH mission and values, an understanding of the importance of championing new and established policies and procedures working closely with the Director of Compliance to introduce new policies. The position requires a willingness to be collaborative, positive, and solutions-based as a leader to the Medical Leads and partner to the Medical Directors. The senior lead position includes being part of the PLH clinical pool which requires the provider to be accessible to fellow providers to discuss and process clinical issues that can arise through the day. The senior lead position can include leading the chart review committee and directing and participating in chart reviews for training and compliance, and the clinical championing of compliance with the EHR.

Requirements

  • Must be an in-clinic provider and not solely virtual to support provider training, mentorship, and clinical development.
  • Must have served as a PLH Medical Lead for a minimum of one year.
  • Must consistently meet Medical Lead productivity and performance expectations.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical documentation, compliance standards, and quality patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical mentorship, coaching, and constructive feedback to other providers.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to partner effectively with providers, Medical Directors, Compliance, and operational teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to PLH mission, values, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to identify challenges, provide solutions, and support implementation of organizational initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Meets all the above PLH medical provider expectations and PLH medical lead expectations.
  • Serves as an advanced clinical resource and mentor to PLH medical providers, providing guidance related to clinical care, documentation standards, workflows, and adherence to PLH expectations.
  • Facilitates the clinical championing and rollout of the EHR system, providing continuous education and developmental guidance for incoming clinical Providers regarding the PLHC.
  • Acts as a lead trainer and clinical support resource for new PLH medical providers, including clinical onboarding, orientation, workflow education, documentation expectations, and ongoing development support.
  • Provides coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to providers related to clinical practice, documentation quality, compliance expectations, and organizational standards.
  • Performs provider/chart reviews and co-signing responsibilities as assigned and appropriate.
  • Promotes adherence to PLH Clinical and Administrative Policies and assists in updating and communicating clinical pearls, best practices, and workflow improvements.
  • Assists with the development, review, and improvement of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures in collaboration with Medical Directors and the Director of Compliance.
  • Works closely with the Director of Compliance to support compliance initiatives, audit readiness, documentation standards, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Serves as a point of contact for clinical compliance needs and quality improvement efforts, supporting communication between patient care teams and administration.
  • Reviews clinical quality trends and assists in identifying opportunities for improvement on workflows.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by PLH Clinical Leadership.
