About The Position

The Airborne Radar Mechanical Design Department is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Receiver & Electronic Packaging Section in El Segundo, California. The role involves electronics packaging design for airborne radar subsystems, including antenna, receiver, exciter, processor, and power supply subsystems. The engineer will work across the hardware life cycle, from concept development and preliminary and detailed design through transition to production, production support, and installation. Designs support tactical airborne defense environment-based sensor systems, including ground-based, shipboard, airborne, and space sensors. Technologies include high-density printed wiring board assemblies, electronic enclosures, thermal heat exchangers, machined components, RF microwave assemblies, and power converter units, with constraints involving size, weight, power, and cost. The position designs and releases mechanical parts and systems for Receiver & Electronic Packaging and other subsystems; supports internal operations and external suppliers; creates 3-D models, 2-D detail drawings, and change notices; and supports development of design specifications and acceptance requirement documents. This is an onsite, U.S.-based role in El Segundo, California. Relocation may be offered based on candidate eligibility. U.S. citizenship and an active, existing DoD Secret clearance are required.
