About The Position

Formlabs is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop desktop 3D printers. The role involves creating precision mechanisms and components, testing materials, researching 3D-printing challenges, and analyzing and iterating on electromechanical systems. The engineer will use CAD to model parts and assemblies and produce accurate drawings, apply manufacturing methods such as injection molding and sheet metal fabrication, and collaborate with global sourcing, manufacturing, and other teams to move designs from prototype to mass production. The position also involves solving customer problems and requires intermittent travel.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of industry experience.
  • Confident use of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Onshape to design components, produce drawings, and build assemblies.
  • Deep understanding of the full product development cycle.
