Responsibilities include all aspects of the automated solution being deployed. Mechanical design from concept to model / drawing completion for moderate to high complexity required. Ability to work and support projects with minimal supervision. In this role, you will be expected to manage projects with the design, component selection, obtaining quotes, make versus buy decisions for fabrication and assembly, tracking and maintaining schedule adhering to budget, and presenting status at meetings. The Senior Mechanical Engineer Verification Design is an onsite position in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

  • Typically requires University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • 3-5 years of experience with the design process as outlined above.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and machined parts design, design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) practices.
  • Proficiency with 3D modelling using Creo (or equivalent) and ACAD.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

  • Managing schedule and budget of large capital projects.
  • Ability to work with external suppliers.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including a basic knowledge and understanding of GD&T.

  • Ability to succeed in a teaming environment with timely problem resolution utilizing a positive, proactive attitude and a strong customer focus.
  • Ability to obtain secret clearance.
  • Ability to adapt to changing product requirements.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience with automation, including motion control, robotics, and sensor specification
