About The Position

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our rapidly growing Energy Solutions division and help expand our Pennsylvania market. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a strong technical background who thrives on client engagement and can lead all phases of performance contracting projects. While the position is within the performance contracting division, engineers with significant HVAC design and commissioning experience are encouraged to apply, as a transition into this group is common. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for leading performance contracts from inception to completion, acting as the main client contact. This role also involves identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and contributing to CMTA's overall business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients, identifying opportunities where CMTA’s solutions can provide long-term value.
  • Articulate how and why CMTA is unique in our approach to performance contracting, reinforcing our value proposition in both technical and financial terms.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.
  • Participate in business development efforts including client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.
  • Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.
  • Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications.
  • Direct the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the client to finalize the performance contract.
  • Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period.
  • Direct the commissioning process to validate performance.
  • Support the client through the warranty phase as needed.
  • Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop the first-year M&V report.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Pennsylvania K-12 design-build procurement processes, ensuring alignment with state and district requirements.
