About The Position

CMTA, a Legence company, is one of the fastest growing engineering firms in the U.S., with nationally recognized expertise in sustainable, high-performance building engineering. They are a collaborative, innovative, and energetic team that leverages a data-driven, holistic approach to consulting engineering, performance contracting, and zero energy projects. CMTA is looking for an experienced Engineer to help expand their Pennsylvania market within the Energy Solutions division. The successful candidate is a self-motivated individual who thrives on helping clients and possesses the technical background to be involved in and lead all phases of their work. This position is for the performance contracting division, and engineers with strong backgrounds in HVAC design and commissioning are encouraged to apply. The Senior Engineer will lead all aspects of performance contracts for clients, from conception to completion, serving as the primary point of contact. This role also involves identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and contributing to CMTA’s business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.
  • Must have undergrad degree in engineering from ABET accredited university.
  • Current work authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients, identifying opportunities where CMTA’s solutions can provide long-term value.
  • Articulate how and why CMTA is unique in our approach to performance contracting, reinforcing our value proposition in both technical and financial terms.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.
  • Participate in business development efforts including client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.
  • Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.
  • Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications.
  • Direct the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the client to finalize the performance contract.
  • Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period.
  • Direct the commissioning process to validate performance.
  • Support the client through the warranty phase as needed.
  • Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop the first-year M&V report.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Pennsylvania K-12 design-build procurement processes, ensuring alignment with state and district requirements.
