About The Position

The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment. The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained “A Tradition of Excellence”, serving as a trusted source for our unwavering commitment to supporting all branches of the Department of Defense and our global allies. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with at least 10 years of experience.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, instrumentation, and data acquisition and control systems).
  • Geometric dimensioning, tolerance, and stack-up analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work well within a team.
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • This position must meet export control compliance requirements. All applicants must be “U.S. persons” within the meaning of ITAR, as defined: a U.S. Citizen, a lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 3D modeling packages such as Pro Engineer (CREO), AutoCAD, ANSYS preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience with integration of military systems/standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to lead, own and understand subsystem designs such as electromechanical, structural, fluid, thermal and control systems, and improve their requirements.
  • Design and analysis of components and subsystems for electromechanical and electrohydraulic systems.
  • Manage prototype builds, planning, fabrications, and documentation.
  • Assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances.
  • Lead the development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
  • Prepare schematics, diagrams, drawings, and reports.
  • Participate in program reviews activities and technical reviews.
  • Perform testing and prepare test reports for components and subsystems.
