As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you’ll oversee a team of job captains, drafters, and consultants to deliver high-quality construction documents for HVAC and plumbing systems. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and client interaction to ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
Requirements
- PE Licensed
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience in mechanical design for building systems.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD and familiarity with ASHRAE codes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to mentoring and team development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project leadership to develop and execute plans.
- Apply working knowledge of ASHRAE codes and industry standards.
- Design and layout HVAC systems (including energy calculations) and plumbing systems (sanitary waste, venting, domestic water, natural gas).
- Select, size, and specify HVAC and plumbing components.
- Document designs in Revit/AutoCAD and prepare scope, concepts, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site visits, gather field data, and prepare reports.
- Direct and mentor staff and consultants preparing drawings and specifications.
- Review project status, budgets, and proactively address risks.
- Maintain strong client, consultant, and agency relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.
