About The Position

The Senior Mechanical Designer 1 leads advanced mechanical design work for Oil & Gas and Power projects. The role independently develops complex mechanical deliverables, supports field activities, mentors less experienced drafters and designers, and coordinates with multidisciplinary project teams. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office and allowing two days of remote work. The designer develops mechanical physical layout drawings and integrated 3D design models; plans and executes general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings; and reviews mechanical equipment outlines and interface points. The role also involves field walkdowns and client site data gathering, using field information to improve design accuracy and constructability, providing technical guidance in drafting tools, and coordinating with other engineering and design disciplines. The position does not offer U.S. work authorization sponsorship. Sargent & Lundy describes its benefits as including comprehensive healthcare plans, paid time off, and other benefits. The listed compensation range is $77,890–$118,999, with eligible positions potentially participating in a yearly discretionary bonus.
