About The Position

The Senior Mechanical Designer 1 leads advanced mechanical design work for Oil & Gas and Power projects. The role independently develops complex mechanical physical layout drawings and integrated 3D design models, supports field activities, and mentors less experienced drafters and designers. The position is hybrid, with three days per week in the office and two days working remotely. The designer plans and executes key deliverables, including general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings. The role reviews mechanical equipment outlines and interface points, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, accompanies engineers on field walkdowns and client site data-gathering activities, and uses field information to improve design accuracy and constructability. The designer also provides technical guidance in drafting tools and helps ensure complete and timely project execution. Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor employees for U.S. work authorization for this position. Compensation is listed at $77,890–$118,999. Eligible positions may also include a yearly discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
