About The Position

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of GE Vernova’s Wind Global Machine Head Driveline subsystem team, which is responsible for mechanical hardware—including main bearings, main shafts, covers, rotor locks, rotor brakes, and couplings—and for new product and technology introduction, validation and testing, field support, and root cause analysis for utility-scale wind turbines. The role primarily supports high-speed rotor locks, rotor brakes, and flex couplings throughout their lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through development, testing, qualification, manufacturing, validation, and installed-fleet support. The engineer will drive technical excellence and continuous improvement in component design, analysis, cost, and reliability. They will lead component design and development, own specifications and design quality, develop validation programs, investigate field issues, and work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to improve quality, yield, and product performance. The role also includes identifying cost-saving opportunities and introducing advanced materials, manufacturing methods, and design tools. The position calls for extensive mechanical design, analysis, and validation experience with rotating or power-generation equipment, sound independent judgment, and the ability to lead outcomes across global, cross-functional teams. Relocation assistance is provided.
